The Philippines country has never been short of boxing talents who keep winning championships in various boxing weight classes day in and day out. The current generation of Filipino boxers has significantly improved the boxing ranking of the country which was once predicted to be going down after Manny Pacquiao's retirement.
This blog will discuss the three latest Filipino Boxing champions who have recently won championships in their respective weight divisions. Furthermore, the article will highlight their recent visit to the President's House where their contributions and achievements were acknowledged by the honorable president of the Philippines.
Marlon Tapales - Nightmare
Tapales and Akhmadaliev were head to head each other as Akhmadaliev was defending his WBA, and IBF World Super Bantam Championship. Marlon Tapales kickstarted the fight with aggression and delivered strong pouches at Akhmadaliev.
Tapales, despite being seen as a big underdog, surprised everyone by throwing almost a hundred more punches than Akhmadaliev, the champion. This strategy disrupted the rhythm of the Uzbekistan boxer and made the fight much tougher than he expected.
Even though Akhmadaliev made a strong comeback towards the end, especially in the 12th round where he landed more punches, Tapales had dominated the earlier rounds. His strong performance in the first eight rounds was enough to secure him the victory in the fight.
Although Akhmadaliev has boxing online betting odds of -400 as he was the hot favorite to win the bout, Tapales was an underdog with +280 betting odds.

Melvin Jerusalem - Gringo
Melvin Jerusalem is among the latest Filipino Boxing champions and is currently the WBO World Strawweight champion. Melvin Jerusalem, after beating Masataka Taniguchi in two rounds via knock-out at the EDION Arena in Osaka, Japan, was finally crowned WBO strawweight champion.
Jerusalem, who was trying for the world title for the second time, showed the class and power he had when he landed a big right hand on Taniguchi's chin at 1:04 of the second round.
This victory marked Jerusalem's ninth consecutive win. Now fighting out of Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, in the Philippines, Jerusalem fell just short of the title when he had his hand raised in his first world title opportunity in 2017.
In that contest against Wanheng Menayothin, he made his first attempt to dethrone the WBC strawweight champion but came just a hair short via the judge's decision. Not long after, with a couple of misfires along the way and his very next fight a defeat to Joey Canoy, his talent and determination would shine through, and Jerusalem would go on to win the WBO strawweight title.
Jerusalem has boxing online betting odds of +400 as he was a heavy underdog, While Masataka was a heavy favorite with -600 betting odds.

Charly Suarez - King's Warrior
Charly Suarez scored a major win Wednesday by overpowering Paul Fleming in a thrilling bout between two unbeaten former Olympians at Kevin Betts Stadium in Sydney, Australia. So, he is one of the 3 latest Filipino Boxing champions.
Behind on all three scorecards—where the judges had Fleming ahead by several points—Suarez from San Isidro, Philippines, did not allow this. In the 12th and final round, Suarez got his chance and threw a hard left that sent Fleming to the canvas.
Though Fleming tried to get up, he was quite shaky in standing up and could not protect himself well. Referee Pat O'Connor stopped the fight at 1:58, thus giving Suarez the victory by way of knockout, and maintained his unbeaten record standing at 15 wins, nine by way of knockout.
Suarez was an underdog as his boxing online betting odds were way less than Fleming's. EsballPH is an online casino and betting platform where one can bet on different wagers of boxing bout.
