Ralph Cu doing Wonders for Ginebra San Miguel

The Ginebra players 2024 have a promising rookie named Ralph Cu who played a big role in Ginebra's win against the Phoenix Fuel Masters, scoring four three-pointers, three of which came in the third quarter. This helped Ginebra secure a 102-92 victory, maintaining a perfect 2-0 record in the PBA Philippine Cup.

Cu, known for his sharpshooting skills, celebrated his 27th birthday by earning his first Player of the Game honor.

In the game, he contributed 12 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block while playing as a starter for over 18 minutes.

“I noticed that [Phoenix’s] defense was giving me the shot. They wanted me to shoot the ball so I just wanted to let them pay,” said Cu.

“I’m very grateful for the opportunity. I think this is the most opportunity I’ve had in my whole life.”

“In college I was a bench player so I just wanted to make the most out of the opportunities that are given to me,” added Cu.

Brownlee is set to Return to Ginebra in the Next Conference

As per the latest PBA news 2024, Justin Brownlee is likely to reunite with Ginebra players 2024 in the future, but for now, he might play for other teams as he waits for his next PBA stint.

According to Ginebra San Miguel head coach Tim Cone, Brownlee has received offers from teams overseas. This comes as Brownlee considers his next career move after his successful performances with the national team in the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers.

“I can’t wait for that moment,” said the 35-year-old Brownlee. “I’ve gotten older. I’m older now. I’m not a young guy. Every opportunity to get to play especially for Ginebra, I’m at an age that you’ll never know. Things can happen. Father Time can happen. Every opportunity I get, I’m just going to cherish it and try to make the best out of it.”

“I can’t wait to put on that Ginebra jersey again. Not only represent Ginebra, but it’s like you still represent the Philippines playing for Ginebra. It’s going to be a great day when it comes,” said Brownlee.

Brownlee had an outstanding game against Chinese Taipei. He scored 26 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, gave out 5 assists, and made 2 blocks. This performance came after his impressive showing against Hong Kong, where he recorded 16 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals in a dominating 94-64 victory.

Tim Cone who is currently the head coach of Barangay San Miguel will also coach Team Aguilar in the PBA All-Star matches according to the PBA news 2024. John Pinto, a 34-year-old Point Guard will feature for team Barroca in the All-Star competition. Talking about the Rookies All-Star match, Ralph Cu will be representing the Team Greats for the PBA All-Star Rookie and Junior Game.
