The Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots were able to come out on top in this one which was no surprise to Halowin Bet as they won 106-90. They were the better team all season and in this game.

The Rain or Shine Elastopainters will still have one last chance to make it into the playoffs behind Rey Nambatac. This was a big game for both teams and both will hopefully look to make some noise in the playoffs coming up really soon.

The Rain or Shine Elastopainters Collapse in the Second Half

It was all the Rain or Shine Elastopainters early in this game. In fact, it was looking like they were going to win the entire game until the fourth quarter rolled around.

They really had a meltdown in that final period. At the end of the first quarter, the Rain or Shine Elastopainters were ahead by four and then doubled that lead by halftime. Even at the end of the third quarter they still had the lead over the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots by six points.

The fourth quarter is when things started to go really bad for them. Heading into the quarter up by six points they ended up getting outscored in the quarter by 22 and losing the game by 16.

The Elastopainters allowed the Hotshots to score 35 points in that fourth quarter, which was the most scored by either team in any quarter by a long shot.

Without Taylor Jr. in this game, who averaged 20 points per game, Rey Nambatac tried to step up like he has done all year, but it wasn't enough.

A Massive Fourth-Quarter Run Secured the Win for the Hotshots

The Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots trailed essentially for the entire game. This team has only lost two games all year.

They were not about to lose their final game and forfeit the title of having the best record in the PBA during the regular season. This win solidified that they would have the best record as they tied the Bay Area Dragons who both ended the season with 10 wins and two losses.

The run was led by the star player for the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots, Nicholas Rakocevic. This year he has averaged 25 points but really didn't get it going in this game until that final period. He finished the game with 21 points, most of which came in the fourth quarter.

During the final run led by Nicholas Rakocevic, the Hotshots outscored the Elastopainters 35-13 to get the win.

The Hotshots have Clinched the Second Spot in the Playoffs

With this win over the Rain or Shine Elastopainters, the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots have clinched the second spot in the upcoming playoffs. They did tie the Bay Area Dragons for the best record in the league at 10-2 but the Dragons hold the tie-breaker over them and will be the one seed.

This means that the Hotshots will be the second seed. It is a good position for them to be in in the opinion of Halowin Bet. All year this team has been great. They have been led by Nicholas Rakocevic, who was one of the most dominant players in the entire PBA. He is a huge reason for how good they did this season.

Their last game before this one was against the Bay Area Dragons. A win in that game would have made them the number-one seed and the best team in the league.

The Dragons ended up beating them for the Hotshot's second loss on the season. It was a disappointment but the Hotshots should be the second favorite heading into the playoffs according to Halowin Bet.

The Elastopainters had a Chance to Make the Playoffs in this Game

There was a chance for the Rain or Shine Elastopainters to make it into the playoffs with a win in this game against the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots. Everything started out great for them.

They had the lead after every quarter except the one that matters the most, the final quarter. It was a game that they had well in their grasp. This team without Taylor Jr. has struggled to score the ball. It was evident to Halowin Bet in the fourth quarter that they missed his ability to score the ball.

A lot of the scoring load has fallen upon Rey Nambatac. He has scored fairly efficiently recently and he will need to continue that to get another win for this team.

It has been a surprising season for Rey Nambatac and the Rain or Shine Elastopainters. It was unfortunate that they couldn't get win this game. Now they find themselves with the season on the line.

What is Coming Up Next for Both of these Teams?

These teams now find themselves in very different situations at the end of the season.

The Rain or Shine Elastopainters are battling for their playoff hopes and the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots are sitting happily as the second-best team heading into the playoffs. Halowin Bet would love to see both of these teams competing in the playoffs but it is not a guarantee at this point.

Nicholas Rakocevic has been a great leader for the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots and for the Rain or Shine Elastopainters Rey Nambatac has developed into that role as well.

Both of these players give it all to their teams and find themselves as the main reason for their teams winning or losing almost every single game. It will be a battle in the playoffs and these teams hope that they can win some games on the way to a potential PBA championship.
